There are two major taxi applications in Istanbul. It is BiTaksi and Uber. Please find all the relevant links below. Once you download the taxi application onto your phone, you are ready to order a taxi.

Calling a Taxi by Phone (not possible)
No yellow taxi stand in the area to call or to walk to. Because all Turks use BiTaksi and Uber taxi applications, almost all yellow taxi stands in Istanbul closed many years ago. Even the 5 Star Millennium Hotel; 4 minutes walk from the apartment does not have a yellow taxi stand.

No private yellow taxi companies with a telephone number to call a taxi. While it exists in other cities (e.g. Bucharest) Istanbul never had private yellow taxi firms with different phone numbers to call a taxi.

Hailing a Taxi (possible, but not recommended)
If you do not want to use BiTaksi and Uber taxi applications. And as there is no yellow taxi number to call a taxi, the only other option is to walk to the main avenue next to the embankment and hail a passing by yellow taxi.

If you plan to hail a passing by yellow taxi, always do it on the main avenue next to the embankment. It is quite unlikely a yellow taxi is going to pass by in the small streets, unless a yellow taxi drops off a customer at the 5 Star Millennium Hotel nearby the apartment.
